1. v2024.3 - 2024-03-15

   • Improved our "resort grouping" to allow us to exclude certain resorts from the automatic renaming that came along with being in a group.
   • Fetching Google Photos is much more efficient and logical.
   • A handful of Material 3 UX improvements (more to come!).
   • Fixed a bug that caused live status to appear available when it isn't (yet) on certain resorts.
   • A crash and other issues while using the timeline editor.

2. v2024.2 - 2024-02-16

   • An issue that was causing a crash on the summary screen for certain Samsung devices. We'll temporarily show a Google Map here until the Mapbox bug is fixed.

   • Live lift & trails status show directly on the recording screen and interactive resort maps.
   • Finally squashed a bug that was causing the last run before a pause to be dropped.
   • Fixed an issue where friend locations were behaving oddly during recording.

4. v2023.11 - 2023-12-23

   • New items are available to be unlocked in the merch store. Check them out!
   • Localization is largely community-driven for Slopes (want to help? Account tab -> translate, and thanks for all that help!), but some languages were falling behind so we hired some people to help catch us up.
   • Fixed the Health Connect integration so it works on Android 14.
   • Crashes happen sometimes 🙁. We fixed a few so Slopes should run a bit more smoothly.

5. v2023.10 - 2023-12-11

   • For 570+ resorts world-wide, Slopes now provides easy access to the official lift + run status page for the resort you're recording at.
   • OpenSnow forecast links now open the OpenSnow app when it's installed.
   • Fixed an issue with timeline edits not saving.
   • Fixed a time zone issue that was preventing trips from being created.
   • Fixed an issue with the incorrect unit being used when comparing runs.

6. v2023.9 - 2023-11-15

   • Plan upcoming trips: Find My Friends + Rode With tagging automatically works with people you invite on a trip; no more having to send friend links to everyone (unless they're really friends). And after the trip, see your combined stats.
   • Material Design v3: Slopes lost a round of Hot or Not, and we couldn't stand for that.

7. v2023.8 - 2023-08-28

   • Photos: Automatically show pictures taken from Google Photos on the logbook, daily summary, and timeline screens.
   • New, faster, start recording screen: No more picking a resort - Slopes will figure all that in the background - just pick your activity type.
   • Multi-resort support: Auto-resort tagging is here! This is big for European users. For example hopping from Meribel to Courchevel will tag the activity as Les 3 Vallees instead of just Meribel.

8. v2023.7 - 2023-04-25

   • Splitting activities: Whether you accidentally record overnight or want to split an activity into different equipment, head over to the edit screen to make the change.
   • Fixed an issue where season and lifetime stats was showing incorrect data.

9. v2023.6 - 2023-03-14

   • Detect and show a warning when power / battery saver is enabled which can cause recording issues.
   • Fixed an issue with paused recordings incorrectly auto-resuming in certain situations.
   • Fixed an issue with leaderboards not updating after saving a recording.
   • Removed a confusing error message when accepting a friend invite when you're already friends.

10. v2023.5 - 2023-02-05

    • OpenSnow integration! Resort snowfall forecasts are now powered by OpenSnow and include temperature estimates.
    • For more details beyond the 5-day snowfall estimate, you can tap to get directly into OpenSnow (either on the web or the app it's installed).

11. v2023.4 - 2023-02-01

    • Interactive trail maps are now available even when you aren't recording, via the resort details screen.
    • When recording with Find Me turned on, you can now get a notification when a friend also starts recording with Find Me on at the same resort.
    • Similarly, if you enable that, you'll also get a notification when you start recording if friends are already recording there.
    • Improved the contrast of your day's path on the recording screen with the newer premium maps.

    • Fixed an issue that was causing recording to fail to begin.

    • Fixed a couple crashes related to the new altitude adjustment.

    • Altitudes are now adjusted using a geoid model to provide the orthometric height, which is the height above mean sea level.
    • Updated some off-piste / backcountry logic that was creating one giant run in some situations.
    • Fixed a couple crashes related to restoring the app and underlining some text.
    • Fixed an issue (again) that was causing some Garmin activities to fail to sync.

    • Added a prompt to disable battery optimizations on certain device manufacturers that don't play nicely with background location.
    • Fixed an issue related to the GPS week number rollover that was causing some issues with recording.
    • Fixed some issues with how the app was handling deep links.

    • Side-by-Side Run Comparisons: Play back and analyze two runs side-by-side. Compare your own or vs someone you rode with.
    • Heart Rate Integration: Analyze the heart rate data from Google Fit or Health Connect to see how hard you pushed yourself on the mountain.
    • Garmin Integration: Connect Slopes to your Garmin account to automatically import your skiing and snowboarding activities and heart rate.
    • Merch: Record to unlock exclusive merch like pins and shirts.

    • Trail maps: Opened trail maps will retain their zoom level and location so you can quickly return to where you were looking.
    • Location sharing friend avatars: Friends will display as faded on the map when their last known location is older than 10 minutes.

    Notice: On February 7 Google confirmed a regression in their GPS library that causes inaccurate altitude measurements (e.g. missed and split runs). They said they have a fix rolling out to users at the beginning of March.

    • Location sharing: Never lose your friends on the mountain again! It's privacy-focused so only friends who are skiing at the same resort on the same day can see you and opt-in so your location won't touch Slopes servers unless you enable this feature.

    • Lifetime & seasonal stats. Tap in from your logbook for details on any season, or for your total lifetime stats. Fun fact: I spent 36hrs on lifts in the 2019/20 season. You?
