What's New - Android

  1. v2024.6 - 2024-11-22

    • Fixed 2 crashes caused by some bad number formatting when the device language is set to Spanish or Japanese.
    • Fixed an issue where day passes were appearing as expired when they definitely were not. Sorry!
  2. v2024.5 - 2024-11-14

    • Resort map search + trail / lift details inspector:
      • Tap on runs / lifts while recording to get more details like elevation graphs, vertical, slope, etc.
      • Many North American resort maps now show on-mountain facilities such as bathrooms, food, and most importantly ski patrol locations.
      • Search for a specific any run / lift by name, or for on-mountain buildings like ski patrol huts or nearby bathrooms.
      • All these features are also available while you aren't recording via the Resorts tab, too.
      • We try hard to be *very* proactive about updating our trail data, but if you notice something out of date, you can report a correction from the popup card for a run / lift.
      • These features are available for resorts that have the "interactive map" tag on the resort details screen (350+ resorts world-wide).
    • 1,500+ New Interactive Trail Maps: Open Street Map data fills in the gaps for resorts we haven't hand-mapped yet (630 and counting!).
    • 3D Maps: Interactive resort maps support being viewed in 3D, in both winter and satellite modes. Great for spotting those flat catwalks before it is too late!
    • You can now properly crop the image you select when setting your profile picture.
    • Fixed an issue where no data was exporting to GPX when doing "single track" and "raw GPS" exports.
    • Fixed a bug where the progress indicator on logbook could get stuck in a loading state forever...
    • Fixed the edit activity bug where you couldn't remove the first tagged resort.

    • A crash and other issues while using the timeline editor.
  5. v2024.2 - 2024-02-16

  6. v2024.1 - 2024-02-09

    • Live lift & trails status show directly on the recording screen and interactive resort maps.
    • Finally squashed a bug that was causing the last run before a pause to be dropped.
    • Fixed an issue where friend locations were behaving oddly during recording.
    • Fixed an issue where certain resorts were not being included in the past trip summary.
  7. v2023.11 - 2023-12-23

    • New items are available to be unlocked in the merch store. Check them out!
    • Localization is largely community-driven for Slopes (want to help? Account tab -> translate, and thanks for all that help!), but some languages were falling behind so we hired some people to help catch us up.
    • Fixed the Health Connect integration so it works on Android 14.
    • Crashes happen sometimes 🙁. We fixed a few so Slopes should run a bit more smoothly.
  8. v2023.10 - 2023-12-11

    • Fixed an issue with the incorrect unit being used when comparing runs.
  9. v2023.9 - 2023-11-15

    • Plan upcoming trips: Find My Friends + Rode With tagging automatically works with people you invite on a trip; no more having to send friend links to everyone (unless they're really friends). And after the trip, see your combined stats.
    • Material Design v3: Slopes lost a round of Hot or Not, and we couldn't stand for that.
  10. v2023.8 - 2023-08-28

    • Photos: Automatically show pictures taken from Google Photos on the logbook, daily summary, and timeline screens.
    • New, faster, start recording screen: No more picking a resort - Slopes will figure all that in the background - just pick your activity type.

    • OpenSnow integration! Resort snowfall forecasts are now powered by OpenSnow and include temperature estimates.
    • For more details beyond the 5-day snowfall estimate, you can tap to get directly into OpenSnow (either on the web or the app it's installed).

Can I just nerd out for a second? OpenSnow is my go-to for forecasts. I'm super excited to bring their data to all of you. Make sure you head over to them and sign up to check out their full data (this is not a sponsored post).

  14. v2023.4 - 2023-02-01

    • Interactive trail maps are now available even when you aren't recording, via the resort details screen.
    • When recording with Find Me turned on, you can now get a notification when a friend also starts recording with Find Me on at the same resort.
